Maksim Andreenkov was born in Kazakhstan in 1993. His first steps in music began with the accordion, an instrument that quickly revealed his talent and passion. He took part in numerous competitions and concerts, including performances as part of a folk instrument trio organized by his teacher, Vladimir Khovansky. After completing seven years of accordion studies, Maksim chose not to leave music behind but to expand his artistic horizons by studying vocals. This transition was eased by the fact that his teacher also possessed deep vocal expertise.
One of his earliest significant achievements came with the recording of the radio drama Viy, based on Gogol’s novella, where Maksim performed the role of Viy himself—thanks to his naturally deep bass voice, already remarkable at a young age.
Following his graduation from high school, Maksim pursued studies at Moscow Polytechnic University. In 2014, he began formal vocal training at the Galina Vishnevskaya College of Music in Moscow, where he studied under Viktor Sukhonos, Honored Artist of Russia. Just a year later, in 2015, he made his operatic debut as Petrus in Carl Orff’s Der Mond at the Pokrovsky Opera, Moscow’s State Chamber Music Theatre. He went on to perform the role of Peter in Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel at the Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Center, marking the start of his professional stage career.
With Vishnevskaya College, he toured with the musical "Save the Drowned" (music by Mikael Tariverdiev) and with Dunayevsky's operetta The Wind of Liberty in the role of Philip.
Maksim Andreenkov participated in master classes with Dmitry Vdovin, Ramon Vargas, Ildar Abdrazakov, Mauro Trombetta, and Dmitry Bertman.
In 2018, he entered the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory and began working at the Bolshoi Theater's Chamber Stage.
In 2019, he toured with the Stanislavsky Theater as a chorister and dancer to the Grand Theater of Shanghai to perform Tchaikovsky's opera Eugene Onegin.
In 2020, he was accepted into the youth opera program at the Helikon Opera Theatre in Moscow.
Maksim Andreenkov has appeared in numerous theater productions, notably in the role of Escamillo in Carmen and the role ofNardo in Mozart's opera La finta giardiniera.
With the beginning of the war on February 24, 2022, he had to leave Russia due to his active political stance and participation in protests.
In 2022, he made his opera debut as Sonorа in La Fanciula del West at the Theater Hagen.
In 2023 and 2024, he appeared on stage in the title role of the opera Re Teodoro and in the role of Don Artabano in the opera Le Trame deluse at the HfMT in Cologne. He also played the role of Jarbe in Piccini's opera “Dido” at the Rheinsberg Festival.
In 2025, he made his debut as Betto in Puccini's Gianni Schicchi and as Captain/Zaretsky in Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin at the Verbier Festival. He also played the role of Pedro/Donkey in the musical Man of La Mancha at the Theatre im Revièr.
